The ground floor of Bombay House has been converted into a shared space housing an in-house coffee lounge, informal breakout places, and the Tata Experience Centre (TXC). TXC, a digital museum, is aimed at giving visitors an immersive experience into the world of Tata using digital technologies for effective storytelling. In a first for Bombay House, a kennel has been created for the canine friends who have been an integral part of the building for decades.

“The den’s bright wallpaper and fun art brings my entire family together to relax and unwind,” says Gandhi. A sofa-cum-bed, placed there after much deliberation within the family until a good one was finally procured, makes the den perfectly adaptable as a guest bedroom when needed. The half glass partition was Bahl’s deliberate move to break the train compartment-like feel to the original ‘alley way’ style layout by breaking down a wall; “and also to bring in a villa vibe,” she says. Gandhi and Bahl chose to neutralise the larger canvas of subtle wall and floor colours and use a palette of warm yellows, pinks, greens and faded blues in the furniture. “I chose shapes and fabric to bring out eclectic moods and contrasts – rust, wine red, mustard, wooden touches and outside city colours,” says Bahl. It's one of my favorite places to go in LA and especially beautiful at twlight. One of Frank Lloyd Wright's most important works, in a style he called "California Romantic," designed in 1917 and built between 1919 and 1923 for oil heiress Aline Barnsdall. The complex includes the main house, garage, and one other surviving structure.
